Media in China: 174 Million Cable TV Subscribers In 2009
China had 174 million cable TV subscribers at the end of 2009, up by 10 million, or 6.1%, from the end of 2008, according to China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television. The number of households receiving digital TV reached 61.99 million, accounting for 35.63% of national cable TV subscribers and representing an increase of 16.72 million from 2008.
