Shortly after opening to students in China and almost two years after its creation, Autodesk announced recently that its online Student Community has reached a membership of more than 300,000 students and faculty from around the world. Students have downloaded more than 550,000 free copies of Autodesk software from the Web site, which also features tutorials, job and internship listings, and forums for sharing designs and ideas interactively.
Autodesk Inventor software is the most frequently downloaded software program by students, followed closely by AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit Architecture. Autodesk created the Student Community as part of the company’s effort to provide students with access to technology and innovative programs in order to inspire the next generation of design professionals, preparing them for future academic and career success. It is a truly global effort, with student and faculty members representing more than 80 countries.
